Episode Information

Japan: The Sense of Season is back for a further two episodes and a journey through time, culture and the wonder of nature over one year. The series aims to capture the essence of the Japanese expression, ‘Ka Cho Fu Getsu’, meaning to live in the flow of the seasons. Starting in spring, with the iconic cherry blossoms, we go on to indulge in unique Japanese flavours from both land and sea. Summer is awash with festivals and spiritual awakenings, where a trek to Mount Fuji’s summit is more than just a physical feat. Autumn cool is embraced with a nod to well-loved traditions and crafts with exquisite carving and cloth dying techniques, and despite the severity of winter we see warmth, resilience and beauty in nature and Japan’s people. It is a chance to bathe in the colour, flavour, warmth and spirit of one magnificent country.
