Episode Information

If you go down to the woods today a wonderful treat awaits! The home of one of the planet’s most loved, dangerous and characterful animals – the brown bear. Baby bears have a lot to learn about the forest, but thankfully all bears know their way around a good picnic. We’ll meet the remarkable cubs as they emerge from mum’s den for the first time and follow their development through a year in the wilderness. Gradually they’ll learn all the tricks of the bear trade as they hunt, forage and even steal their way to a square meal. One day they’ll be the most feared creature in the forest, but in the meantime they’ll have to evade the predators and scavengers that would eat a bear cub for lunch. If you’re not familiar with these magnificent animals, prepare for surprises and dangers in equal measure as we join the bears for the ultimate feast.
