Life can be tough at times, but it gets much easier when you have friends to watch your back. While we humans tend to fear the worst when we see a gang, often their purpose isn’t really that sinister. Whether it’s to protect the home and family, to find food, win a mate, learn about life or even go to war, it’s always handy to have someone you can trust in your corner. Animals from across the natural world band together for all sorts of reasons, and the results are almost always spectacular and full of surprises. From the classic pack of wolves stalking prey in close-knit teams to the bullish lionfish mobs terrorising all other fish on the reef. Not forgetting the countless species that will form a gang to sound the warning alarm if a predator does drop by. One thing’s for sure – when animals form gangs things soon get wild!
