The Standard of Perfection is the guideline used by animal show judges to award points and prizes to worthy animals. This film celebrates the people and animals that compete in some of America’s most prestigious animal shows. As we spend more time indoors and as our society becomes increasingly urbanised, it is easy to lose sight of our place within the natural world. Fancy Cats follows cat owners at they endeavour to compete in one of the largest and most prestigious cat shows in the world – the Houston International. The film features champion cats, human showmanship, pride, some tears, passion and jubilation as the owners go head to head for the cat world’s highest honour in The Standard of Perfection.
