Episode Information

Our Earth is made up of several climate zones, all sporting unique conditions and exciting wildlife. The hottest climate zones are the ones most exposed to the sun, with the coldest tilted away. Subtropical climate zones are characterised by seasonal shifts; hot summers and mild winters allow some creatures to thrive, while others are forced to battle for their lives. This variance in conditions requires that any creatures living in these zones are resourceful adaptable and resili-ent. What’s more, sub-tropical regions can be as diverse as the seas of the Mediterranean to the mountains of North Africa and the great Sahara desert. From octopus living in the shadow of an active volcano to resourceful barbary apes eking out a living amongst snow-blanketed cedar for-ests, there’s always an interesting story to tell from the sub-tropics.
